Basement Waterproofing

When most people think of foundation repair by the injection process, they do not think of it as basement waterproofing. The fact of the matter is repairing a foundation wall crack is a step in waterproofing your basement or foundation. Although cracks that are repaired with epoxy are glued or welded together, the benefit is that the repair will stop any water coming through. Sealing around sewer, water and well pipes is also part of basement waterproofing. The advantage to the injection process is that it stops the water at the source, outside of the foundation. Injecting snap ties and bulkheads are also considered basement waterproofing for the same reason.

In conclusion remember that repairing cracks, voids, pipe penetrations, bulkhead and snap ties is part of waterproofing your basement.

Many times when people think of basement waterproofing they only think of the installation of sump pumps and french drains. Most people fail to recognize that stopping water through foundation walls is also a form of waterproofing. There are several ways for water to enter in through a foundation wall. The most common leak is through a settlement crack in the foundation. Other areas where water can leak into a basement wall is around water and sewer pipes, through the metal tie rods in the foundation and through the honeycomb areas of voids in the concrete wall. These troubled areas can all be repaired with a simple injection.
